This a busy, trendy, popular restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. (Heat lamps provided outside, if cold, and were adequate to stay warm) Wait time for my party of 4 was approximately 15-20 min (on a Saturday night), and the staff was friendly and accommodating. There is also bar seating. I recommend the fried chicken...it was delicious & crispy, and the Shrimp & grits. Shout out to our server Joshua!!! who took care of all our requests!!!! Definitely would recommend going here !!

⭐⭐⭐⭐ We stopped by FIXINS for a midday meal, and it definitely hit the spot. The food was really good — fresh, flavorful, and perfect for lunch. My wife and daughter absolutely loved it, and I thought it was pretty good myself. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy a hearty, satisfying meal in the middle of the day. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

My family and I visited here on a Sunday while in LA for a game. Everything we ordered was delicious, no complaints at all. The service was friendly and music was a vibe. I'd recommend a reservation, it got packed as we were eating which was about time church let out. We will definitely be visiting again.

I really wanted to like this place. I loved seeing a black owned business in the busy downtown LA. The music and vibe was inspiring- filled with black families & couples having a good time. The hostess and server were friendly. The food- this where we tend to get picky and I know we all have different tastes, but… Fried green tomatoes- salty and had overpowering taste of vinegar Fish nuggets- yummy!!! Fried chicken- this broke my heart bc literally two minutes after ordering, the food arrived. so there is no earthly way it was made to order- that was disappointing. The taste was decent enough, flavorful and crispy but was not fresh/hot. Mac n cheese- had weird texture, the cheese sauce tasted “puffy/whipped/gritty? I cannot put my finger on it. Collard greens- heavy on the vinegar if that’s your preference- not mine. Koolaid cocktails were good. I will might return if others want to try it, maybe some other items may be better.

Our server Josh was a WHOLE VIBE!!! We were seated outside. Music was on point. Food was . So good we had a food coma afterwards. Portions are huge. We didn't finish our food. Green tomatoes would order again without the sauce. They had a mustard taste to them. The mac & cheese, greens and fried chicken was perfectly seasoned. I had two drinks. They tasted good. Def would return!

I rarely ever go to soul food restaurants but I'm so glad my friend took me to Fixins. I ordered a simple smothered chicken with vegan greens and black eyed peas (vegan means no extra meat added to the vegetables). The food was delicious, chicken was tender, and the gravy was savory. The cornbread muffins were amazing. If you dip the cornbread muffin in the gravy, you get a delicious swirl of goodness in your mouth. The atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming. Aaron was our waiter and the service was great. I definitely plan to return soon.

Fixins Soul Food absolutely blew me and my fiancée away! The service was phenomenal—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Every dish was incredibly flavorful with generous portions that make you feel truly taken care of. The cocktails were delicious and perfectly crafted, and the location itself is vibrant and inviting. What makes Fixins even more special is its mission. You can feel the pride in honoring Black culture, history, and family in everything they do—from the menu to the atmosphere. It’s more than just a meal; it’s an experience that celebrates community. Highly recommend. I can’t wait to come back!

The restaurant was nice and felt warm due to the ambiance and the great customer service from the staff. We were seated immediately on the patio, under a heater; because it was chilly. We were able to people watch on a beautiful Sunday morning. The music was great! And the food was even better. We had the gumbo that came with some really good cornbread that tasted like cake. The serving was so large I had to pack the remainder to go. The chicken and waffles were very good. The waffle was soft and not over cooked. The Mac and cheese was delicious also. Parking was right across the street. Great experience overall.
